With support from the New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Alzheimer Society via brainXchange led a knowledge transfer and exchange project to better understand and respond to the experiences of people living with dementia and their care partners related to virtual service delivery. An environmental scan and surveys were conducted in the fall of 2021 to gather information about:

  • Experiences of people living with dementia and care partners relating to access of Alzheimer Society virtual services during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Benefits of accessing and/or participating in virtual services
  • Barriers experienced accessing and/or participating in virtual services
  • Areas of opportunity to improve to existing services and additional supports needed, including low technology options.

Findings from the scan and surveys were used to highlight some of the emerging promising practices for virtual service delivery. Through this webinar for Community Support Services Sector Organizations and Providers will review emerging best practices, reflect on possible implications, and consider potential actions for enhancing service delivery.
