Dr. David Hogan, Professor and  inaugural Director of the Brenda Strafford Centre on Aging, University of Calgary guides you through the new Canadian Consensus Conference on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Dementia (CCCDTD4)  2012 guidelines and discuss how they relate to the prevention and detection of dementia.  

This presentation addresses the validity and reliability of neuroimaging and why physicians should “bother” to diagnose; the advantages and disadvantages of identifying cognitive change in MCI and VCI and the importance of retesting over a period of time and why physicians are saying no to neuroimaging and the best way to communicate that to patients and their families.
