Creating Culture Change in Long Term Care Homes in Canada: A Person Centred Approach from
CDRAKE on
Vimeo.
Presentation Description: What do we mean when we use terms like a ‘person centred approach’? Lots of people talk about creating a ‘culture change’ to better serve people with dementia and their families. What does it really take to achieve a culture change and what is the Alzheimer Society in Canada doing to improve the care of people living with dementia in long term care homes?
This presentation will be delivered by Mary Schulz, Director of Education at the Alzheimer Society of Canada, staff lead for ASC’s nationwide initiative in this area. During this discussion, there will be opportunities to pause, reflect and consider the challenges of bringing together stakeholders from all walks of life to create sustainable change in the way people with dementia and their families experience care in the later stages of life.
