In 2015, a provincial coordinating body re-emerged to support and facilitate the work of the BSO initiative. The Provincial Coordinating Office (PCO) is located at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Meet the BSO PCO Team.
 
The BSO Provincial Structure is depicted below, containing all of the various reporting requirements, Committees, Advisories, Collaboratives/Communities of Practice and Working Groups.

BSO PCO Mandate

Advancing the BSO initiative to better support older adults with, or at risk of, responsive behaviours/personal expressions and their care partners through measuring BSO impact, spreading BSO innovation and enhancing system integration.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads all coordination elements of the BSO Provincial Structure which consists of groups of key stakeholders and persons with lived experience, each informing strategic planning in key focus areas of the BSO initiative. 
  • Monitors and evaluates the BSO initiative in order to inform evidence-based quality improvement and measure the impact of the initiative. 
  • Surfaces and spreads BSO promising and best practices through the development of clinical tools and resources for BSO Teams, partner clinicians and persons with lived experience. 
  • Promotes the accountability of all cross-sector BSO teams and their leaders across the province to the BSO mandate and acts as the conduit to connect them. 
  • Acts as a go-to resource for a variety of partners across Canada for inquiries about the initiative; develops and shares province-wide communications; provides information on how to access clinical support; and fosters opportunities for collaboration.
