Individuals with Frontotemporal or other Frontal dementias present in ways that are often different from others with more common dementias such as Alzheimer’s Disease. They are younger, more physically capable and have a different behavioural profile. These differences can pose unique challenges within the LTC environment. Through a combination of family lived-experience and clinical knowledge, this presentation will highlight the key features commonly seen in the Frontal Dementias, share hopes family members have when the person they love is in LTC and identify creative strategies to address behavioural challenges and maximize quality of life.
