Examine range of emotions/experiences and to review strategies to support those in transition.
Dementia is a progressive illness which leads to decline in cognition and function. Often time, as care needs increase family and friend caregiving becomes augmented by support from formal care providers. This transition to formal care provision is frequently accompanied by many conflicting emotions on the part of both the person living with dementia and their caregivers. The purpose of this presentation is to examine these range of emotions/experiences and to review strategies to support those in transition.
